Trough pump for process industry
Our trough pump is suitable for viscous sludge, such as organic sludge or paper/pulp. It also has capacity for some chemical sludge. If you wish, the trough can be supplied in a separable version, which makes it easier to service and clean, for example when you need to replace the rotor and stator. If you want to increase the service life of the trough pump, it can be mounted on a slotted stator with a clamping jacket.
Typical application areas
- Dewatered sludge
- Dry sludge
- Food products
- Slaughterhouse waste
- Industrial sludge
Swedish-made progressive cavity pumps
Our progressive cavity pumps are manufactured in Sweden, and each pump is a customised solution that creates unique opportunities for our customers. With an individual ID number, we guarantee full traceability and quality, allowing you to rely on our products for your specific needs.
It is important to size a trough pump correctly. The speed usually needs to be significantly lower than for a traditional pump with a regular housing. When we dimension, we take into account what is to be pumped and against what pressure. The speed is often between 35-70 rpm. A traditional pump is often dimensioned for around 200 rpm. It is also important to choose the right manufacturing material for the trough, the screw conveyor, the base plate, the rotor and the stator. We help you make the right choice of material.
An important aspect of the trough pump is that the process must ensure that the pump does not run dry. A pump that runs dry quickly becomes very hot and overheated, leading to the stator and possibly even the rotor no longer being able to pump and they need to be replaced.
To detect that the pump is running dry, a temperature sensor can be installed in the stator which is connected to the control. If the temperature rises, the pump is stopped.
A level sensor can be installed in the trough so that the process can stop either if the trough is empty or if it is full.
MAF Pump offers customised pumping solutions.
We manufacture parts of the highest quality and we always offer solutions adapted to our customers' needs and wishes. The pumps and specialised pumps we design are delivered to customers all over the world. Maintenance and service are carried out either on site at your premises or at ours.
AHLEX® is our own brand of screw pump that we have manufactured in Sweden since 1994.
