Better prevention for Stockholm Vatten och Avfall, Ledningsnät Teknik (LT)
Stockholm Vatten och Avfall is Sweden's leading water and waste company. Its operations affect around 1.5 million residents and businesses in the Stockholm area every day.
With MAF's help, a number of ”standard pumps” have been replaced with cutting pumps from Vaughan in the plants where there have been recurring problems with rags and tough fractions. The pump with associated guide bracket has been adapted with a slightly more flexible motor size to easily replace the existing pump and fit the customer's standard. The result is a clear reduction in maintenance.
Thomas Mattsson is the theme leader of the PU department (Planning and Development) at LT, and he has been the driving force behind the issue. Thomas tells us:
”- We've gone from being reactive in our operations to being more proactive. With these pumps, we only do check-ups, inspections and servicing. It saves us a lot of time, money and headaches. We've been able to use the time and money this saves to develop the business and improve the facilities”.
