A Volute model GS-132 has been installed and commissioned. The equipment has a built-in thickener in the flocculation tank, which means that it can handle thin TS contents while delivering high performance. At Alfta treatment plant, the incoming TS content varies between 0.6 and 1.1 %. By measuring the TS content continuously, the Volute is adapted to run at a constant capacity. When the machine is running at a constant capacity, polymer consumption can often be optimised and minimised. The Volute achieves an output TS content of approximately 25% with a very low polymer consumption of 4 g/kg.
We always recommend our customers to have a homogeneous mix of incoming sludge. A stirring of the tank helps to keep a more even TS content which also gives a better performance of the whole process.
